This app is based on the Rancho Observational Gait Analysis System, a renowned method utilized for instructing physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, students, and other healthcare professionals in a structured evaluation of both normal and abnormal gait patterns.
The RanchoGait app is the inaugural installment in a series of modules designed to educate users on assessing normal and abnormal gait, with the final module focusing on the prescription of lower extremity orthoses. This series was developed at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center for individuals with neurologic impairments.
The primary module of the RanchoGait app serves as a valuable resource for students and clinicians seeking an interactive tool to understand and reinforce the foundational principles of Normal Gait and the Problem-Solving Approach. Subsequent modules aim to deepen the understanding of Pathologic Gait, integrating the Rancho R.O.A.D.M.A.P. and MOPS brace adjustment module into the core Rancho Gait App experience. Users can actively interact with options to play different phases and sub-categories associated with Normal Gait. In the R.O.A.D.M.A.P. module, users engage with choices to identify suitable types and settings for lower extremity braces. Within the Brace module, users can access options to select appropriate steps for configuring the highly adjustable lower extremity orthosis known as MOPS Brace.
